About Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa (TDV):
Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa was a Dutch packaging company that used thin rolled sheet steel and aluminum for packaging in the food and chemical industries. Founded in 1919, the company expanded with the acquisition of the Drenthina tin factory (1952) and the opening of a factory in Oss (1953). In 1958, the company began producing plastic packaging under the name TEDECO. To celebrate its 75th anniversary, artist M.C. Escher designed a special packaging tin, the Icosahedron, in 1963. In 1964, the company acquired the Belgian Sobemi. In 1965, Thomassen & Drijver merged with De Vereenigde Blikfabrieken (Verblifa) from Amsterdam, forming Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa.
