"Made from rye, fruits, and candied sugar, Klinkhamer bakes a true Groninger treat."
"Klinkhamer koek is light and airy, made with the finest grain from the Hogeland."
"The village of Uithuizen is worth a visit—for the Menkemaborg and Klinkhamer koek."

Background Information:
Klinkhamers Koekfabrieken B.V. was acquired by Koninklijke Peijnenburg B.V. in 1982, which has since continued the production of Groninger koek and gingerbread varieties. Groninger koek is distinguished by its use of rye, syrup, and spices and is traditionally served with coffee. Variations such as gingerbread (gemberkoek), candied fruit cake (sukadekoek), and "old wives' cake" (oudewijvenkoek or Oalwief) showcase the rich diversity of this regional specialty.
More than just a storage tin, this item represents a tangible piece of Groningen’s industrial heritage—perfect for collectors of vintage packaging or enthusiasts of regional traditions.
