Product Description:

This elongated tin box was produced by Hollandsche Metaaldrukkerij (HMD) and published by Tjoklatfabriek NV in Amsterdam. Designed by Jannes de Vries and Berend Hoving, it was manufactured between 1920 and 1970. The tin served as packaging for the well-known TJOKLAT Camee Pastilles, combining functionality with an iconic design.

Shape & Construction
The box has an elongated shape with a hinged overlapping lid. The edges are finished with rolled and folded seams for added durability. The base and side seams are seamed, while the lid features an overhanging hinge with loose tabs. Notably, the lid is seamless, contributing to the sleek and refined design.

Decoration & Color Scheme
The tin features a gold-colored base with purple edges and delicate arabesque patterns. The lid showcases an embossed ‘label’ with a relief image of a kneeling woman holding a bowl, executed in white. This design enhances the product’s recognizability and luxurious appeal.
