This elongated, rectangular tin box by Driessen, originally designed for Carro's chocolates, is a remarkable example of functional and aesthetic packaging design from the early to mid-20th century. This nostalgic piece combines practical use with the rich history of the Dutch chocolate industry.

  The tin features a hinged, seamless lid with an attached hinge. The bottom and side seams are riveted, contributing to its durability. Notably, the lid is embossed with 28 chocolate mold designs, featuring the Carro brand name, a subtle nod to the product the tin once contained.

  The decoration consists of a brown base with gold accents, including the edges, lettering, and the underside and interior. The text on the tin emphasizes its origin and quality: DRIESSEN CHOCOLAAD CARRO'S, Made in Rotterdam, Holland. Net 1/2 kilo. The bottom displays the embossed company name: NV Cacao- & Chocolaad Fabrieken A. Driessen.

However, economic crises and rising raw material prices in the 20th century led to its acquisition by Kwatta in 1935.
