Vintage Orange Brabantia Biscuit Tin with Biscuit Lift – Functional Design from the '60s-'70s

  • Manufacturer: Brabantia Home Steel
  • Period: 1960 - 1970

Product Description:
This orange biscuit tin, made by Brabantia, is a classic example of practical yet stylish household products from the 1960s and '70s. With its vibrant orange background and bold white lettering spelling "Beschuit" in block letters, this tin was a common kitchen accessory in Dutch homes.

The tin is tall, designed specifically for storing biscuits, and is sealed with a removable chrome lid, ensuring a tight seal to protect against moisture. On the back, you’ll find a crimped seam, a characteristic feature of many tins from this period.

One of the standout features of this tin is the included metal biscuit lift. This lift makes it easy to raise the biscuits without having to tip the tin or risk breaking the biscuits.

This item is in good vintage condition, with normal signs of use that come with age. There may be minor scratches or slight discolourations, but these add to the authentic character of the piece. Dimensions:

  • Height: 20 cm
  • Diameter: 11 cm

Brabantia, founded in the Netherlands in 1919, initially began as a manufacturer of milk churns and cans but quickly grew into a global player in household products. With iconic designs such as the 1952 pedal bin and the Patrice pattern from 1969, Brabantia has made a lasting mark on Dutch design. The biscuit tin, like this one from the '60s and '70s, reflects the functional, durable nature of the brand, combined with the distinctive style of the era.

This vintage biscuit tin is not only a practical kitchen item but also a collectible piece that represents a slice of Dutch design history.
