- Manufacturing Date: 1954
Product Description:
This vintage teaspoon box from Douwe Egberts, produced in 1954, offers a unique blend of functionality and nostalgia for tea enthusiasts. The elongated, oval tin was made by Douwe Egberts for their Pickwick tea and serves as a charming collectable with a rich history.
The box features a detailed design, with a hinged lid and a wavy edge that gives it an elegant appearance. The cream-coloured lid displays a picturesque panorama of an old town, complete with spires, windmills, a drawbridge, and sailing ships. This scene is further enhanced by a gold-coloured rim and images of trees on the sides, contributing to the refined look of the tin.
The inside of the box is lined with red fabric, featuring a brown-and-white illustration, and the lid opens smoothly thanks to a special hinge mechanism with five smaller hinges. This makes it both a practical and aesthetic addition to any tea collection.
The box was originally available through collecting stamps with the purchase of Pickwick tea, adding to its value as a collectable.
