About Parker Brothers:
Parker Brothers, often abbreviated to Parker Bros., was a renowned American board game producer known for games like Risk, Cluedo, and Monopoly. The company was acquired by Hasbro in 1991 and has since become a brand of this toy giant. In the 1980s, Parker Brothers also released computer games for systems such as the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64.

Founded in 1883 by 16-year-old George S. Parker in Salem, Massachusetts, as the George S. Parker Company, the name changed to Parker Brothers in 1888 when his brother Charles joined the company. Later, their other brother, Edward H. Parker, also joined the business.

In 1906, Parker Brothers launched the successful card game Rook. Although the company initially rejected Monopoly in 1934, they purchased it a year later, leading to massive success. After being sold to General Mills in 1963, Parker Brothers became part of Kenner Parker Toys in 1985, which was later split by Tonka in 1987. Tonka was acquired by Hasbro in 1991, making Parker Brothers a Hasbro brand.
