  • Manufacturer: Verblifa
  • Manufacturing Date: 1960s

Product Description:
This vintage cylindrical tin canister, designed for storing sugar, dates back to the 1960s. The canister features a cream-white background adorned with a floral decoration of nasturtiums, depicted in red and green. The floral design graces both the front of the canister and the lid. The lid is equipped with a rolled edge, contributing to the secure closure of the canister, while the bottom also has a rolled edge. A crimped longitudinal seam is visible at the back.

The word "SUIKER" (Dutch for "SUGAR") is prominently displayed in bold orange/red block letters, clearly indicating the canister’s intended use.

Condition:
The canister is in its original vintage condition, showing normal signs of use and age-related wear. These are visible in the attached photos, which are part of the description.

Dimensions:

  • Height: 18 cm
  • Diameter: 11 cm

Nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus):
The floral decoration on the canister features the nasturtium, an annual plant from the Tropaeolaceae family. This plant is known for its trailing and sometimes climbing growth habit, with grey-green leaves that resemble a shield. The botanical name, Tropaeolum, is derived from the Latin word "tropaeum," meaning a tree adorned with weapons, a symbol of victory.

This canister combines aesthetic charm with functional utility and is an interesting piece for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage kitchen accessories.
