Meet the Zwolse Blauwvinger: a delightful cookie from Zwolle with an intriguing backstory. This treat, similar to a spritz cookie, derives its name from the nickname of the residents of Zwolle - the Blauwvingers.

This nickname traces its origins to an age-old rivalry between Zwolle and neighbouring city Kampen. After a devastating fire in the Grote Kerk of Zwolle, the city decided to sell its carillon. Enjoying this opportunity to tease their rivals, Kampen residents paid the owed amount in the smallest denomination, causing the Zwollenaren to get blue fingers from counting the countless coins.

In summary, the Vintage Cookie Tin for Zwolse Blauwvingers not only offers a piece of history and culture but also a tasty insight into Zwolle's local delicacies.
