Vintage Douwe Egberts Coffee Tin in European Folk Art Style (1967-1970)

  • Manufacturer: Douwe Egberts
  • Manufacturing Date: 1967 - 1970

Product Description:
In the world of coffee connoisseurs, Douwe Egberts is renowned not only for its refined coffee but also for its beautiful collectibles. A striking example of this is the rectangular coffee tin in European Folk Art style, released as part of a series of three unique tins between 1967 and 1970.

This tin, adorned in red and embellished with authentic paintings from Hindeloopen, Finland, or Yugoslavia, radiates in vibrant orange and blue hues. What makes this particular piece extra special is the absence of the DE logo on both the lid and the body, giving it a mysterious and exclusive allure.

Dimensions:
Measuring 6 cm in height, 17 cm in length, and 10.5 cm in width, the tin consists of separate parts for the lid and the body. This artistic series was specially commissioned by Douwe Egberts and served as a valuable addition to their range. Interestingly, it was offered as a bonus with a promotion that included a half-pound pack of DE Red Label coffee for just Hfl 2.75, during the period from 1967 to 1970.

Condition:
Despite having stood the test of time, this Douwe Egberts tin shows signs of vintage use and age-related wear. The attached photos provide a detailed overview of the condition of this charming collectible and are an integral part of the description. This coffee tin reflects the rich tradition of Douwe Egberts and adds a touch of European folk art to any collection.
