However, like many legends, A. Driessen also faced setbacks. The stock market crash of 1929 and the subsequent Great Depression marked the end of an era for this once glorious company. In 1935, it was acquired by Kwatta, a chocolate factory in Breda, bringing an end to the story of A. Driessen after more than a century.
