Experience the rich history of Douwe Egberts, a Dutch company processing and trading coffee, tea, and other foodstuffs since 1753. In 1978, the company was fully acquired by the American company Sara Lee, but in 2012, it regained its independence and went public as D.E. Master Blenders 1753 NV. The company came under German ownership in 2013 after a successful bid for all shares.

Pickwick, the beloved tea brand of Douwe Egberts, has a history dating back to 1937. Before that, the company had been selling unbranded tea since 1753 from a shop in Midstraat, Joure. The name Pickwick was inspired by Charles Dickens' book 'The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club,' suggested by the wife of Douwe Egberts' then-director. Experience timeless elegance and rich tradition with this beautiful tea caddy, a valuable addition for vintage enthusiasts and tea connoisseurs alike.
