A charming vintage Zassenhaus wall coffee grinder, manufactured by Pe De, features the recognizable Douwe Egberts logo.

Product Description:
This wall coffee grinder, marked with Douwe Egberts, is mounted on a wooden board. On top, there is a cream-colored earthenware container for coffee beans, sealed with a black wooden lid. The Douwe Egberts logo (D.E.) with the text "KOFFIE" adorns the container. Below the lid is the manually operated grinding mechanism, powered by a crank handle, and beneath it, a glass collection bin.

This Zassenhaus wall coffee grinder by Pe De was a sought-after item in the Douwe Egberts gift shop and has often been reproduced. Older versions feature a curved handle, and from 1939 onwards, the grinder was available through DE points.

Forward-Thinking and Innovative:
Upon its debut in 1936, this coffee grinder was a symbol of progress and innovation. The hand crank allowed users to manually grind beans for a fresh pot of coffee. Despite the rise of electric grinders in the 1960s, this grinder remained popular long thereafter.
