Product Description
This charming vintage tea spoon box, crafted by Douwe Egberts for Pickwick tea in 1954, exudes a nostalgic atmosphere. The tin box, designed for storing tea spoons, is a collectible with a story.

The elongated oval tin, equipped with a hinged closing lid with a prominent wavy edge, is intricately adorned with images of sailboats, fishermen, and idyllic scenes by the water. This unique box could be obtained by collecting stamps with the purchase of Pickwick tea. The hinge, a strap hinge consisting of five smaller hinges, allows the lid to open smoothly.

The cream-colored lid displays a picturesque old town with spires, windmills, a drawbridge, and sailboats on the water. Fishing figures adorn a vegetated shore in the foreground. The gold-colored rim and images of trees on the short sides give the box an elegant appearance. The interior is lined with red fabric, featuring a brown-and-white image on the inside of the lid..

This beautiful vintage spoon box is in a good condition with only normal signs of use and age-related wear, as seen in the attached photos.

About Douwe Egberts (DE): Douwe Egberts, a Dutch company founded in 1753, is known for the processing and trading of coffee, tea, and other food products. In 1978, the company was fully acquired by the American Sara Lee, and in 2012, it went public as D.E. Master Blenders 1753 NV. In 2013, it came under the ownership of a German investor.

About Pickwick: Pickwick, a tea brand of Douwe Egberts, dates back to 1937. The name is inspired by Charles Dickens' book "The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club," proposed by the wife of the then-director. Before Pickwick, the company sold unbranded tea from 1753 in Joure.
