Discover the rich history of Jumbo, your trusted partner in board and tabletop games!

In 1853, Engelbert Hausemann laid the foundation for the current empire of game publishers and manufacturers, Hausemann & Hötte. What started as an 'Agency and Commission Business in Grocery' in Amsterdam grew into an iconic name in the world of games. Wilhelm Hötte joined the company as an employee in 1860 and later founded his own business in 1873. Five years later, Hausemann & Hötte joined forces to become the firm Hausemann & Hötte, continued by Wilhelm Hötte after Engelbert Hausemann's departure in 1887.

The history of Jumbo took a playful turn in 1947 with the appearance of the first brochure featuring Jumbo games. 'Mens erger je niet!' adorned the first page, followed by other classics such as 'Hamertje Tik,' 'Ganzenbord,' 'Lotto,' 'Pim Pam Pet,' 'Halma,' and 'Dobbertje Duik.' Meccano and Schuco were also prominent brands contributing to the success at that time.

Since then, the product range has evolved, featuring well-known favourites like 'Stratego,' 'Mens erger je niet!,' and 'Pim-pam-pet,' as well as an extensive educational series called 'ik leer...' The timeless Electro, once a question-and-answer game, has received a contemporary makeover.

In recognition of their dedication, Hausemann & Hötte received the 'Royal' predicate in 1978, acknowledging royal quality in games that have stood the test of time.

Experience the magic of Jumbo and share the joy of games that connect generations! 🎲✨"
