Stratego Game Rules Overview:

In this game, two armies, red and blue, each consisting of 40 pieces of different ranks, face off against each other. The objective is to capture the opponent's flag or immobilize the opponent so they can no longer move. Pieces have a movement limit of up to 5 moves before another move must be made. The Red Army goes first, and each piece can move only one square horizontally or vertically, with some exceptions:

• The scout can move long distances both horizontally and vertically.
• The flag and the bombs cannot move at all. Pieces cannot jump over each other. When pieces attack each other by moving onto the same square, the ranks of both pieces are revealed, with the higher rank winning and the other piece being removed. In case of tied ranks, both pieces are removed. There are two exceptions:
• If the spy (lowest rank) attacks the marshal (highest rank), the marshal is defeated.
• If the marshal attacks the spy, the spy is removed from the board. Bombs are only removed if attacked by a miner. The flag and bombs cannot be moved after they are placed. Bombs disable any opponent piece that attempts to attack them, except for the miner. The game's goal is to be the first to touch the opponent's flag with any piece. The board is 10x10 with two lakes of 2x2 squares where pieces cannot go. The pieces include marshal, general, colonels, majors, captains, lieutenants, sergeants, miners, scouts, spy, bombs, and the flag.
