Description
This Brabantia fondue set from the Brabantia "Bayon" series is a vintage item that consists of an enamel fondue pot with a wooden handle, an iron base and a burner. The set has a beautiful retro design and is made of enamelled steel, which gives it a durable and classic look. The enamel has a white colour and is decorated with graceful round shapes in orange, red and brown.

The fondue set is designed for traditional fondue cooking, where you dip different types of food in melted cheese, oil or chocolate. The base with a burner ensures an even heat distribution to keep the fondue at the right temperature while serving.

Brabantia is a company in the Dutch village of Aalst that manufactures metal and plastic household products. The company started in 1919 with 15 employees under the name Van Elderen & Co. It was originally a metalware company that supplied agriculture and the cigar industry: milk sieves, buckets, funnels, watering cans and cigar cans.

When it was founded in 1919, the company had the name "Van Elderen & Co". After some time the name was changed to "Van Elderen's Metaalwarenfabrieken Brabantia". From about 1941 the first part of the name has been omitted, and it is only "Brabantia".

"Brabantia" is the Latin word for the Dutch province of Brabant.

Fondue is a dish in which foodstuffs in small pieces are immersed in a warm or hot liquid.

Fondue is experienced by many people as a pleasant way to enjoy a meal. All persons sit around the table and dip their fondue forks in the same pan. The meal takes a long time and people have the time to talk to each other, comparable to gourmet. Fondue is therefore also seen as a meal that is often served on special holidays, such as Christmas.
