Vintage tin by the Belgian biscuit manufacturer 'De Beukelaer'
- Manufacturer: De Beukelaer
- Date of manufacture: 1960/1979
Description
Rectangular seasonal biscuit tin from De Beukelaer fitted with a roof-shaped rounded lid. The lid shows a tree in its seasonal period from spring to winter, a blue sky with white clouds and a red decorative border. On top of the logo of "De Beukelaer".
The decoration of the tin consists of various fragments of the four seasons or seasons. These are depicted on the sides of the tin. The image is determined by a field and farm.
- Spring: the field is sown by a farmer's wife. The trees are in bloom. The tulips bloom and white swans swim in the ditch.
- Summer: The field is full of grain, some of which has already been threshed and bound. The farmer is relaxing after a hard day's work. The farmer's wife walks along the path with a basket.
- Autumn: The field is prepared for winter. Two farmers are hard at work tilling the land. The trees are losing their leaves.
- De Winter: The field is covered with snow and the ditch is frozen. There is skating and a snowman. Delicious cookies are baked inside the farm.
This tin stands on four semicircular feet that are expressed in the bottom.

De Beukelaer
De Beukelaer started producing biscuits around 1885. The scent of this industrial bakery, close to Central Station, was a pleasant introduction to the biscuit city of Antwerp for train travelers. Edward Jacobus De Beukelaer made chocolate bars in addition to cookies. As with most manufacturers between 1950 and 1970, the wrappers contained pictures. They can probably still be found at collectors. The factory moved to Herentals in 1963.
De Beukelaer merged Parein into General Biscuits in the 1960s and later came into the hands of the French Lu group. Today the biscuit factory is part of Mondelez International.
