Brocante enameled bread bins are used to store bread, buns and croisants. They are made of enameled metal and have a lid to keep the contents fresh. These lunchboxes are popular for their unique design and vintage charm. They are often seen as collectibles.
The bread bin shown here is in a brocante condition. Brocante stuff doesn't have to look perfect. The weathered appearance gives brocante character and appearance. Brocante refers to a decor style inspired by French country life, and enamel lunch boxes in this style are designed to evoke a nostalgic, homey feel. They are popular with people who enjoy traditional design and want to add a touch of rustic charm to their kitchen or interior.
In addition to storing bread, these drums are nowadays often used as an eye-catcher. They are given a nice spot in the living room or bedroom and, with the lid open, jewelery or magazines are stored in them.
