Description
The shape of this Verkade drum is beautiful. An asset to any interior due to the original combination of the yellow and red copper color. The "Herald" tin is a welcome gift due to its appearance.

Rectangular tin box with rounded corners and fitted with a loose lid. The box has a longitudinal seam on one of the corners. The decoration of this tin consists of a red copper-colored loose lid in hammered relief with the well-known verkat logo of the rider on horseback in the middle. Around this in a round circle the Latin text: Semper Servat Virtvtem Verkade (Verkade retains its strength). The lid is finished with a border of dots. The tin box has a brass yellow color. The sides are finished with dots in relief. The bottom of the tin bears the text: Koninklijke Verkade factories N.V., Zaandam - Holland with a small logo of Verkade in the form of a rider on horseback above it.

Condition
This tin is in an original vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

Verkade, a genuine dutch brand.
Verkade was founded on May 2, 1886. Then Ericus Gerhardus Verkade opened his Steam, Bread and Rusk factory "De Ruyter". The name "De Ruyter" was chosen with a bow to the past; the first flour mill of West Zaandam carried that name. The products of the first hour were; bread, rusk, honey gingerbread and biscuits, later on the also produced tea candles. "De Ruyter" is now still recognizable in the logo of the Verkade brand. In the course of time Verkade switched to making cookies and chocolate.

In 1950 Verkade received the predicate Royal.
