Description
Beautiful 1950s tin used by the Champs Clark company as product packaging for "DUEL" cigars. This tin has a scalloped shape and is equipped with a loose lid. The decoration of the tin box consists of light and dark blue colors with golden details. The lid is decorated with a decoration of roosters and roses with green leaves.

At the bottom of the tin the original sticker with text: "DUEL" cigars at 20 ct. Price f 8,- CHAMP CLARK cigarenfabrieken N.V. Nr. 1542

Condition
This cigar tin is in a neat vintage condition with normal traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

Champ Clark cigars factory
The cigar factory, Champ Clark & Lugano Sig.fabr. Was located in Nieuwe Pekela at 2-3 Albatrosstraat. v / h R.H. Koning & Zn. From the former workforce it is Chr. Male choir "Albatros" was created, which continues to be very successful to this day. The name of the male choir comes from the name of the factory "Albatros". In 1946, after the Second World War, it was municipal ruled that the municipality that was divided into neighborhoods would be given street names. It was decided to assign the street name Albatrosstraat to the part where the Albatros cigar factory was situated. When R.H. King became an N.V., the brands "Champ Clark" and "Lugano" were used for the name of the N.V. The cigar factory no longer exists, the former director's house is now a pension for the elderly, but the name Champ Clark has remained.
