Description
Vintage tin with an oval shape for DUET cigars by Schimmelpenninck for 25 cigars. Supplied with a loose lid in gold and red. The decoration of the tin consists of a creamy white background with an image in a medallion, product name and information, gold-colored image of a house in a tobacco plantation.
Condition
This vintage cigar tin is in good condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

Schimmelpenninck is the largest cigar factory that has been active in Wageningen. In 1929 Schimmelpenninck employed seventy-one people and the factory produced two million cigars. In 1931, the company was housed in the building of the former and bankrupt Roes tannery on the Stationsstraat. There the company continued to grow; in 1939 there were about seven hundred employees and more than thirty-two million cigars were manufactured. The cigar makers were paid piecework, that is, they were paid in proportion to the number of cigars they made per day or week.
