Description
Large round candy tin for Mackintosh's Quality street. This tin has a loose lid. The decoration of the tin consists of a purple background with "Quality Street" in large letters on the lid on a white background. The brand name is also provided on the side with an image of the range that can be found in the tin.

Condition
This candy tin is in a good vintage condition with normal traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

Quality Street is the brand name of a series of sweets in the shape of chocolates.

Quality Street was created in 1936 by the company Mackintosh's and named after the eponymous play by James Barrie, which was then filmed. Quality Street is now being distributed by Nestlé.

Quality Street exists in round tin drums and in rectangular cardboard boxes. On the tins is often a picture of two characters from the play. The main colour is always purple.

Mackintosh Toffee is a candy made by John Mackintosh.

Mackintosh opened his candy store in Halifax, Yorkshire in England in 1890. The idea for Mackintosh Toffee, not too hard and not too soft, came shortly thereafter. In 1969, Mackintosh's joined with rival Rowntree to continue as Rowntree Mackintosh, which merged with Nestlé again in 1988.
