Thermos
A thermos flask (also: thermos can or thermos for short) consists of a cylindrical object, inside which is a second flask. There is an airless space between the outer wall and the inner wall, so that heat transfer via conduction and convection is impossible. Further heat transfer by radiation is limited by the use of reflective surfaces. This makes it possible to keep both hot and cold liquids at the same temperature for a long time.
These bottles consist of an outer plastic bottle and an inner glass bottle. Nowadays, thermos flasks usually consist entirely of metal, that is, the outer and inner flask are both made of metal. Only the closing caps are still made of plastic.
