Description
Cylindrical tin rusk tin equipped with a loose sealing lid. This rusk tin comes from the company Co-op. The decoration of the bus consists of a light-yellow background with a seasonal decor consisting of a rooster with sun, a green tree with bird and corn with rain clouds. On the lid a stylized crown in the shape of three people holding hands as a symbol for corporation (company, trading company).

Condition
This tin rusk tin is in a vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

The first cooperatives
The roots of CO-OP go back to the end of the nineteenth century. Factory workers then revolted against the low wages, high prices and poor quality of food. They started shops together. Here they sold food to members at reasonable prices. More and more of these types of shops were established. At first mainly locally, but regional cooperatives also emerged as a result of mergers.

The chain store emerged in the 1960s. This made it increasingly necessary for cooperative stores to join forces to achieve a stronger position. An attempt was made to unite all local and regional consumer cooperatives in Coop Nederland.

Unfortunately, the joining of forces started too late. As a result, things went wrong in 1973: the shops and production companies of Coop Nederland fell into the hands of the competition.
