Description
A very nice set of six square cake plates published by Boch La Louvière. Made in Belgium. On each cake plate a different image with a scene from one of the paintings by the Dutch painter Cornelis Troost.

Condition
This complete set of six cake plates is in a neat vintage condition with no significant traces of use or age-related traces of wear. The signs have not faded. Photos are part of the description.

Cornelis Troost (Amsterdam, October 8, 1696 - Amsterdam, March 7, 1750) is one of the few 18th-century Dutch painters who can be called truly original. In his time, better known as the wig age, most Dutch painters embroidered on the pattern of the Golden Age. Troost developed his own, strongly satirical style, with which he showed life in the living rooms and on the street. The work of Cornelis Troost shows similarities with his English contemporary William Hogarth.
