Verkade rusk
A roll of rusk contains thirteen pieces. That is a curious number. The reason for this is the fact that boxes with a volume of 100 pieces were used for single sale. When they switched to roll packaging, Verkade wanted to keep the old crates and exactly eight rolls of thirteen rusks each went into it. The competition then chose the same number.

In the 1960s there was a tight labor market, it was difficult for companies to recruit staff. When an employee of the rusk factory resigned at Verkade, they naturally did their best to keep this man. Why do you want to leave? he was asked. His answer was that his stomach could not handle the food. What turned out? His colleagues had convinced him that for the sake of Verkade's principle of maintaining quality, he had to inspect every hundredth of rusk by eating it. The management quickly relieved him of this duty and the man remained satisfied in the service.

Libelle (Dutch weekly magazine)
Libelle is a Dutch-language women's magazine that was first printed on April 13, 1934 by the NV Uitgeverij. It appears in the Netherlands and is published by DPG Media Magazines.

There is also a Flemish version of Libelle, which is published by Roularta. The Vlaamse Libelle is completely autonomous and completely different from the Dutch version.

The name comes from the Latin "libellus", which means "booklet" or "script" (diminutive of "liber" (book). In Middle Dutch, a "dragonfly" or "dragonfly" meant a "little writing", "pamphlet ".

Until the 1950s and 1960s, Libelle was mainly focused on clothing, recipes and serials. In the 1970s it developed into a more versatile women's magazine. It provides information in the household, psychological and social fields and stories.

A well-known employee of the magazine was Miep Racké-Noordijk (Scheherazade) with her Libelle cocktail. Furthermore, a well-known comic in the magazine Jan, Jans and the children of Jan Kruis.
