Description
This tin cigar box has a rectangular shape and is equipped with a hinged lid, which is defective. The decoration of this tin consists of a brown clouded background with a lace-like motif in gold and yellow and gold trim. The inside of the lid shows a white decorative frame with a coat of arms and crown in which text with the brand name "Senator".

Condition
This tin cigar box is in a vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. NB! The hinged lid of this tin is defective. Photos are part of the description.

Senator (cigar)
Senator was a cigar brand of the Eindhoven-based company Mignot and de Block NV that was operated by the subsidiary N.V. Senator sigarenfabrieken Eindhoven Holland.

The tobacco factory existed from 1858 and celebrated a centenary in 1958 with an 'information film' about tobacco (in colour). The title of that film was: Lof der Tabak. Cigarette production was taken over by Philip Morris in 1969, and the cigar division by Hofnar. For the more expensive market segment, N.V. Senator made cigars under the name Regal. Senator Mundi also made Victor cigars.

Various items were marketed under the Senator name, which currently has collector value, such as the printed cans: Senator Club cigars (with a factory image on the inside).
