ARK
In 1920 Ark’s was a traditional bakery making rusk and gingerbread. ARK's family consisted of five sons and two daughters. Two of those sons, Gerrit Jan van Ark and Martinus Johan van Ark, decided to build a factory in 1931
at the Zwolseweg. Ark’s Rusk Factory still stands there today.
At Ark's, only rusk and gingerbread were initially made. In 1938, biscuits/cookies were also added. Ark’s initially supplied bakers and later also grocers throughout the Netherlands. Ark's products were particularly popular in provinces such as Overijssel, Zeeland and South Holland. In 1975 the factory was taken over by Bolletje. Ark's products were a welcome addition to the Bolletje range!
