Description
Beautiful 1970s double-walled insulated cool box from the Dutch brand Curver. Executed in a typical 70s colour, apple green. Combined with a black folding handle or handle. White inside and edge.
Very handy and very portable. For keeping food and drinks fresh and cool for example at a picnic, to the park or another outing.
Brand name present on the lid.
Nice item for the retro-vintage kitchen or for camping. Suitable for both cold and hot drinks and food.
- Cold: Cool the food or drinks to be taken with you in advance. Place the cooling elements already in your possession or to be purchased in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator ± 12 hours before use. Just before departure, place the cooled items in your cool box and place the cooling elements between or on top of the items. In order to maintain the cooling effect of your cool box as long as possible, it is recommended that you open the cool box as little and as short as possible.
- Warm: Your cool box can also be used to carry warm food and drinks. To do this, you should place the items warm in the cool box. The cooling elements are of course not used here :-) Opening the cool box should also be kept to a minimum in this case.
Condition
This Curver cooler box is in good vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

Curver Benelux BV, known by the brand name Curver, is originally a Dutch producer of plastic household items. The company's products are sold by retail chains in Europe and beyond. Curver started as a small family business in 1949 and became one of the pioneers in the use of plastics in the manufacture of products for everyday use. In 2015, the company is part of the largest producer of plastic articles in Europe.
In May 1949, brothers-in-law Pierre Curtius and Ad Verschuren started producing tubular glass for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry in Tilburg. The company was given the name Curver, a contraction of the surnames of initiators. Three years later, the company moved to nearby Rijen.
From 1954 Curver made the sealing caps of their tubular glass from plastic. At the time, many companies were still sceptical about the use of plastic. They pointed to the solidity of traditional materials such as wood, metal and glass. Because Curver was one of the first companies to have an eye for the possibilities of plastic, the company is developing into a trendsetter in this field.
