A Vintage design from Philips.
This Philips INFRAPHIL KL7500 heat lamp was made in the years 1960 to 1969 in the Netherlands. This model was designed by the French architect and designer Charlotte Perriand. Her work focused on creating functional living spaces in the belief that better design helped create a better society.

This vintage lamp is in good condition. A basic design from the sixties. Made of die-cast aluminium and weighing more than 1.5 kg. Pressed glass with an integrated Fresnel lens was used for the first time. The lamp is secured with a clamping ring that fits into a groove in the front of the arm. The Philips trademark is integrated into the handle and the sticker with the Philips logo is located on the top of the luminaire.

Royal Philips Electronics registered the brand name Infraphil in September 1945. INFRAPHIL is a combination of INFRAred and PHILips. From 1946 Philips brought several dozen infrared lamps on the market all over the world.

Philips, early years
In 1891 Gerard Philips founded the company Philips & Co together with his father Frederik Philips. The company was not established in their hometown Zaltbommel, but in Eindhoven. An empty commercial building was available in this place. The first products were incandescent lamps, to which the First Incandescent Lamp Factory still bears witness. This is now a museum.

Originally Philips was a simple assembly factory for carbon filament lamps. Gerard Philips was particularly interested in research and laid the foundations for the Philips' Physics Laboratory (NatLab), whose successor, the High Tech Campus, is still located in Eindhoven.

With the arrival of Gerard's brother Anton Philips in 1895, the management of the company was supplemented by a businessman who was able to grow the company. In 1899 Anton became a partner of the company. In 1907 the NV Philips' Metaalmetaalbollenfabriek was founded in Eindhoven, followed in 1912 by the founding of the NV Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken, of which Gerard and Anton Philips were the first directors.
