Description
Round green tin "De Betuwe Rinse apple syrup" with an image of apples on the tin and an image of Flipje on the lid. Content 450 grams.

The tin has a loose lid with an image of "Flipje" and the text in italics "'t fruitbaasje van Tiel!" The decoration consists of a green background with a red band with text and two red-rimmed labels.

Condition
This tin is in an original vintage condition from the 1950s and shows age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

Flipje
'The adventures of 'Flipje' is a Dutch comic series with the eponymous, fictional character in the lead role. This comic was drawn as a text strip from 1935 to 1953.

The title character serves as a mascot, originally from the De Betuwe jam factory in Tiel and nowadays from the city of Tiel. It was conceived in 1935. In Tiel, he is honoured with a museum, a statue and comic strips on benches in and around the centre.

The Flipjes booklets could be collected by cutting receipts from the label of the Betuwe products and sending a number of them on a postcard, then the booklet was sent free of charge.
