Tjoklat was a chocolate factory that was founded in Amsterdam as a limited liability company. The original name of the factory was Holland(sch)-Zwitsersche Chocolate Factory Amsterdam. The main products were chocolate bars and pastilles (chocolate).

In the year 1925, the factory already produced 63 million bars under the name Hollandsch-Swiss chocolate bar. And six months later, the milestone of 100 million bars is announced in an advertisement. The first products with the Tjoklat brand name did not appear on the market until September 1936. "Tjoklat" was the Malay word for "chocolate". The mark has since been an image of a kneeling Indonesian woman with a bowl of cocoa fruits in her hands.

After the war, the factory received its greatest fame with the Tjoklat mark. The factory changed its name to Tjoklat-Fabriek NV Amsterdam in 1950. The bakelite boxes were replaced by embossed tin boxes. In 1984 Baronie-De Heer in Alphen aan den Rijn took over the chocolate factory in Vlaardingen. The Tjoklat brand name and mark are still used today.
