Set of two vintage dishes from the Kera Nova tableware "Desiree" made by the Sphinx, formerly Petrus Ragout & Co. from Maastricht. White bowl with a yellow rim. Marked at the bottom.

Condition
This oval bowl of the Sphinx is in a vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Small chip on the bottom (see photo). Photos are part of the description.

Petrus Laurentius Regout, also known as Petrus Dominicus Laurentius Regout, Petrus I, Pieter, Pierre or Pie Regout, nicknamed "Mr. Pie" or "de pottekeuning" (Maastricht, 23 March 1801 – Meerssen, 18 February 1878), was a Dutch industrialist and politician. Koninklijke Sphinx, formerly Petrus Regout & Co., locally known as De Sphinx, was a Dutch company founded by Petrus Regout in 1834 in Maastricht. As the first large-scale mechanized factory, De Sphinx is seen as the cradle of the industrial revolution in the Netherlands. At the death of Regout in 1878 there were about 2,500 workers. The company was initially known as a producer of glassware, crockery and other household pottery; later mainly of tiles and sanitary ware.
