Apollo Vredestein B.V. is a Dutch manufacturer of pneumatic tires for cars, agricultural vehicles and bicycles. It produces approximately six million tires annually under the 'Apollo' and 'Vredestein' brand names. Most tires are sold in the aftermarket. Vredestein supplies a small part directly to car manufacturers.
On November 6, 1908, Emile Louis Constant Schiff became the owner of the Nederlandse Gutta-percha Maatschappij in Delft, the predecessor of Vredestein.
Vredestein profiles itself as an A-brand in the tire industry. Other brands that present themselves as A-brands are Michelin and Continental. Vredestein also presents itself as an A-brand in the field of two-wheel tires, not only at the recreational level, but also at top sports level. For road bike tires Vredestein worked closely with the professional cycling team of Vacansoleil DCM. In the field of mountain bike tires, the company collaborated with the Rabobank-Giant off-road team. Both teams entered their races and tested Vredestein tyres.
