Description
Round orange-coloured vintage cookie tin and biscuit tin made by ARKS with loose lids. The decoration of these tins consists of an orange background with 11 Dutch provinces on it, accompanied by the corresponding coats of arms.

There are 11 provinces on the cookie tin and biscuit tin, as these are from before 1986. The province of Flevoland is not present on these cans, because this province was only established in 1986.

This beautiful biscuit tin and biscuit tin could be obtained free of charge when handing in 100 coupons. These were packed in a roll of ARKS rusk or ARKS biscuit.

Condition
This set of tins is in a good vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

ARKS
In 1920, Ark's was a traditional bakery that made rusks and gingerbread. ARK's family consisted of five sons and two daughters. Two of those sons, Gerrit Jan van Ark and Martinus Johan van Ark, decided to build a factory in 1931
at the Zwolseweg. Ark’s Rusk Factory still stands there today.

At the beginning, Ark's only made rusk and gingerbread. In 1938, biscuits / biscuits were also added. Ark’s supplied bakers in the beginning and later also to grocers throughout the Netherlands. Ark's products were particularly popular in provinces such as Overijssel, Zeeland and South Holland. In 1975 the factory was taken over by Bolletje.
