Croma is the brand name of a baking and roasting product from Unilever. Croma has been around in Dutch cuisine since 1964. It is the first and only real bake & fry that specializes in the recipes of the perfect piece of meat.

Until the end of the fifties, most Dutch kitchens mainly fried beef with fat. At that time you went to the butcher or grocer who scooped it from a large barrel. This beef fat had a specific smell and taste, which people at that time liked very much. So when Croma was developed, the assignment was: make a product for meat that smells and tastes just as tasty as meat roasted in beef fat, but ... that also produces a delicious gravy.
